The above photo is one of the inviting spots which reward Nanaimo residents and visitors alike who get out and enjoy the natural beauty Nanaimo has to offer.
This spot is in Piper's Lagoon Park and is atop a rocky bluff overlooking the Straits of Georgia. As you can see there is a park bench reserved just for you. It is not a strenuous walk by any means, and the view is absolutely gorgeous.
If cooling off is on your list of things to do, then Long Lake and Westwood Lake as well as Colliery Dam are popular places offering respite from our warm weather.
