Road Closure at Pine St. and Fifth St.
Local residents and area commuters are advised of a temporary road
closure at the confluence of Pine St. and Fifth St. at the corner of Victoria
Rd.
Today, City crews discovered a void below the road surface while conducting test drilling for a utility replacement project. The void is believed to be the remains of a shallow coal mine.
To ensure public safety, the impacted section of road has been temporarily closed off while repairs are carried out. Commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and follow alternative routes through the area.
