With a fall of 55 centimetres and a mid-mountain base of 110 centimetres, Mount Washington is finally able to open for skiing and snowboarding.
There has been so much interest generated by the announced opening, that the resort's website has crashed, and currently is not available. Of course that can change anytime, but as of this post, the site was still down, meaning the only way to get current information is by phone (250) 338-1386. That system could also become overwhelmed pretty quickly, as thousands of ski-deprived individuals frantically call for an update.
I predict a few missing students from classes over the next few days, and even a few work absentees. :^)
