A popular Cedar Secondary student was the victim of the longboarding accident which occured on a dark portion of MacMillan Road in front of Cedar Community Secondary School.
Ryan Wallace-Tarry, 17, has been identified as the teen who was longboarding in the southbound lane, when struck by a flat bed truck traveling northbound. Neither speed nor alcohol are considered as contributing factors in the accident which is still under investigation.
The area is described as dimly lit and the victim was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident. The driver of the truck remained on scene and fully co-operated with police.
