Deadline Approaches for Arts Students To Apply
The closing date for applications for the Nanaimo Arts Council – Achievement Awards is March 31. This is a great opportunity for artists from all disciplines to be selected to receive funding to further their education in the Arts.
These awards are designed to assist individuals of any age and discipline to further their arts education. Funding may be applied to tuition, materials and equipment. The awards are open to all areas of the arts, from literary arts to all avenues of performing and visual arts. Many former award winners have gone on to successful careers as professional artists.
Application forms are available at nanaimoartscouncil.ca or the Nanaimo Arts Council #259 Nanaimo North - Town Centre. Forms must arrive at the Art Council with all supporting documentation by March 31 ,2009 (Posted entries must have arrived by this date). A shortlist will be made, followed by interviews in April.
In 2008, the Nanaimo Arts Council awarded four thousand dollars to students for studies in music, design, writing, dance, etc.
