Island Gas Prices Feb. 18 9:00 AM Gas Buddy
The oil companies, and friends of the oil companies will tell you all sorts of bed time stories about why the price of gas in Nanaimo is consistently higher than other island communities. The real reason?? We just keep sucking it up and taking it, that's why. We should start pushing back against this unregulated monopoly by simply boycotting Petro Canada for two weeks, then Chevron for another two weeks and Esso, and so on.
They all talk about competition etc. but that is just another bed time story. Competition? Everyone jacks the price to the exact percentage point at exactly the same time?? Tell me another one!
So, instead of just bitching and complaining..... do something, start boycotting Petro Canada, as they seem to always be the first one to up the price, and all others just follow suit.
