Another Sure Sign It's Summertime in Nanaimo
The restored Bastion will be open again for the summer tourist season as will the noon cannon firing in Pioneer Plaza overlooking the inner harbour in downtown Nanaimo.
The May Queen Royal Party will attend the official cannon firing this Saturday as part of the Empire Days celebration. The cannon firing is a daily event running right through the summer with the cannon firing ceremony beginning at 11:45 daily.
