Nanaimo Fall/Winter Activity Guide Now Out
Parks, Recreation & Culture Program Registration Begins

The fall/winter Activity Guides are here! The guide is now available for pick up at all 5 recreation centres, all Nanaimo Thrifty Foods, Quality Foods, and Country Grocer locations, and other community partners throughout the city. An online version of the guide is available on the City website and can be seen by clicking on the above image. Registration for fall/winter City of Nanaimo Parks, Recreation and Culture programs will begin Wednesday, August 15th.

Don’t let the thought of fall and winter put you in hibernation, the department has put together a great collection of programs and events sure to keep everyone active. There are over 1,000 programs listed with 110 new programs added to the lineup, including; Nature Detectives, Freeride-Style Ski Club, Circuit Training, and Dance the Thriller. Take some time to review the guide and plan ahead to ensure you get in the programs you want.

The phones lines will be busy Wednesday; typically over 2,000 people register for programs on the first day of a new season. You can register in person at recreation facilities, by phone 250 756 5200, or online at ireg.nanaimo.ca (no ‘www’ necessary).You will need to have your IReg codes to register online, you can find those in the guide or by calling 250 756 5200.

The Department is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all of our residents and strives to offer programs that are available and suitable for all. For folks needing some financial assistance, the Leisure Economic Access Policy (LEAP) program is available for those that qualify. If you have questions about the suitability of any program for those with a physical or mental health issue please contact the department at 250 756 5200.
