Housing Starts Off 34% July 2012 / 2011
Year To Date Up 5% Overall
Multiple housing starts year to date July 2012 / 2011 are up 3% and single detached housing starts are up 9%.
Year to date comparisons for the first seven months of 2012 compared with 2011 show single detached dwellings up from 130 in 2011 to 142 in 2012 for a increase of 9%. Multiple dwelling starts increased from 274 units in 2011 to 283 units in 2012 for a 3% increase.
The month of July had an increase in single detached houses from 16. in 2011 to 27 in 2012 for an increase of 69%. For the month multiple housing starts decreased by 51% from 98 in 2011 to 48 in 2012.
