FREEZING DRIZZLE WARNING
FREEZING DRIZZLE WARNING FOR NANAIMO
Issued at 7:24 PM PST Monday Dec. 9 2013
Environment Canada has issued a freezing drizzle warning over much of the South Coast this evening.
Freezing drizzle is expected tonight and will persist through Tuesday morning. Significant ice accumulations and slippery, hazardous road conditions are likely.
Note: as one who has experienced freezing rain (not uncommon in Ontario) I can tell you that really, really good snow tires will make little difference on ice. Studded tires or chains are really the only way to deal with this condition. If you can possibly avoid driving, that is the best course of action under these conditions. Put another log on the fire, and tell the boss you will likely be in late tomorrow.
