South Downtown Waterfront
Initiative Announces Final Report and Community Event
(Nanaimo BC, December 16, 2013) Nanaimo’s South
Downtown Waterfront Initiative Committee is nearing the end of its mandate. For six months,
the Committee has worked with the community and stakeholders at various events
and via its website to develop a vision, as well as framing principles for the future of the South
Downtown waterfront.
Committee
Chair, Dave Witty, says, “The future of one of Nanaimo’s last urban frontiers
relies on active community participation, and with all the input gathered to
date, and clear vision going forward, we know this future is
promising.”
The
Committee welcomes you to a presentation of its final report on Saturday,
January 11, 2014, starting
at 2 p.m. at the Port Theatre. In the meantime, please continue to share your
thoughts and keep the conversation alive.
