Port Hardy - Bella Coola Ferry - Summer 2018


BC Ferries has the green light to acquire a suitable vessel for seasonal ferry service between Port Hardy and Bella Coola. The vessel, currently named Aqua Spirit will accommodate at least 35 vehicles and 150 passengers.

Summer service is scheduled to start in 2018 and will run from mid-June through mid-September on the direct route from Port Hardy to Bella Coola five times each week. The ship will also service Bella Bella, Ocean Falls and Shearwater in the summer, as well as in the off-season.

The Port Hardy to Bella Coola trip will take approximately 10 hours and will be done in the daytime to make the most of the tourism potential.

The vessel is 75 metres and is operating in Greece. It's strong sea-keeping ability, size and enhanced amenities will provide an excellent experience for customers exploring the spectacular Great Bear Rainforest.
