Crime Stoppers Receives $15,000

Crime Stoppers Gets BIG Cheque

Awards were handed out today for businesses who participated in the Nanaimo and Ladysmith Crime Stoppers fund raising campaign held earlier in the year.

On hand to personally thank the contributing businesses was Mr Shawn Mcardle(left), President of Rocky Mountain Marketing. Mr Mcardle’s firm conducted the door to door campaign which raised over $15,000 dollars for the local Crime Stoppers program.Each business was presented with a plaque recognizing their contribution to the program which consisted of businesses offering two for ones and discounts at their stores.

"The $15,000 turned over to the local Crime Stoppers program will be used to run their program and pay Crime Stoppers Tipsters who report on crime"said Shawn Mcardle, President of Rocky Mountain Marketing. "The only people who don't benefit from this are the criminals",said Mcardle.

Businesses who participated in the program were; City of Nanaimo,Vancouver Island Purified Water(VIP),Shima Karate,Blacks Photgraphy,Blue Ginger,Cyber-Lock,Niko Video,Spanish Sol,Word of Mouth Landscaping and Maintenance,Nanaimo Athletic Club,Cyber City,Dog and Suds,Northridge Fitness Maffeo Salon,Cottonwood Golf,Bada Bing,ABS Driving School and Grower Direct.

Mr Mcardle is shown presenting the $15,000 dollar cheque to Mr Chuck Campbell, President, Mr. Chuck Campbell(centre). Also on hand and representing the Nanaimo RCMP was Crime Stoppers Coordinator, Constable Gary O’Brien.
