How Does HST Affect YOU . . . . . . . Does Anyone Know?

Does ANYONE know what is going to be taxed and what is tax exempt under the HST? If you check with Consumer taxation in the provincial government, even they have no idea what items, if any, are going to be spared from the HST.

There is a whole list of things currently exempt that are likely going to be taxed, for example strata fees if you live in a condo, your legal fees, your dental and drug fees to name just a few.

As this video shows a large corporation like ICBC is going to have to hire consultants to see how this tax will affect them.

This whole thing begs the question: "if no one can tell you what is not going to be taxed, how can anyone be sure this tax is going to solve the problem, and how can they calculate the impact on the average taxpayer?".
