Island Ferry Services At Chamber Luncheon

Island Ferry Services Director Is Guest Speaker
The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Bob Lingwood, Managing Director for Island Ferry Services Ltd, proponent of the new downtown to downtown passenger ferry service will be our Guest Speaker at the November 13th luncheon at the Coast Bastion Hotel.

Nanaimo City Council is soliciting public comment on the proposal. The Island Ferry Service is seeking a partnership with the City that will see the city temporarily forego profit sharing to ease start up of the service. The community has the opportunity to learn about the ferry proposal directly from the company who has been exploring the opportunity for the past four years.

The Chamber believes a ferry service of this nature could have a significant positive economic impact on Nanaimo tourism, business attraction, investment and real estate and will be releasing a position statement on this proposal at the luncheon.

    1. That's right. If at first another doesn't succeed, give up trying! Just ask the Wright Brothers.
