Boilerplate Community Promotion Rhetoric??

Did everyone buy the same promotion package?

I came across this video promoting an Ontario community I used to live near. I was struck with the similarities in 'bragging points' this city in Ontario and our own harbour city share. It made me wonder, if there isn't simply an 'Our Community' playbook that everyone is reading from.

It seems that most of our 'leaders' are singing from the same songsheet these days, you know, the way forward is to develop attractions to make us a destination city, and promote high tech and green industry as the way of the future.

If you stop and ponder for a moment, you might wonder if any of our 'leaders' really have clue one. After all it was all that brain power that gave us 1998 and 2008 and the current state of the economy.

Something to ponder as our provincial 'leaders' try and convince us they are the shining lights that can guide us into economic certainty in these perilous times.
