Hell's Angels Case Still Not Resolved

What Is This Costing Taxpayers?

The never ending legal saga surrounding the seizure of this property on Victoria Rd. just keeps on going and going. The property was seized three years ago and it is still not clear if it can be legally seized.

Earlier this week it was reported that the BC Court of Appeal had dismissed a Hell's Angels appeal regards the property. I would have thought that would have resolved the case, but I was wrong.

According to a story in today's Daily News the case now will be heard in court next year sometime to decide if the clubhouse can be seized by the province!

In the article the B.C. Civil Forfeiture office claims to have seized $13 million since it began in 2006. The article does not say if any of the property has actually being liquidated and put cash in the bank, or if it is all still tied up before the courts like the Hell's Angel case.

Does anyone think this is a cash positive for anyone except the lawyers arguing the cases before the courts? Aren't they the same ones that wrote this legislation in the first place? In the case of the Hell's Angels clubhouse, it is now three years after the fact, and it has still not be determined the  action was legal.

Things that may 'ya wonder??
