Nanaimo Christmas Hamper Program

2,000 Hampers Needed This Year

The Loaves and Fishes Food Bank and the Salvation Army have teamed up again this year under the 'Hamperville' banner to spread some Christmas Cheer in Nanaimo.

Hamperville headquarters this year is at the Mt. Benson Public School at 4355 Jinglepot Road (on the end near Steve Marshall Ford), they can also be reached by either email: Christmas.hampers@hotmail.com or via phone at 250-585-2621.

It is expected that 2,000 families will be in need of a hamper this year which is an increase from the 1900 that were given out last year. Anyone needing to register for a hamper can do so on Dec. 1 - 3 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and again on Dec. 8 from 10:00 - 4:00 pm (which is the last day for registration).

A free shuttle service is available from the Loaves and Fishes at 1009 Farquhar St. to the Mt. Benson school, which is also accessible via city bus.

For more information on how to register or how you can help out the cause you can visit their website by clicking here.
