Incorporations In Nanaimo Regional District

The above chart was compiled using data from the BC Stats website with a note the original source data was the Ministry of Finance for the province.

What can be concluded from the statistics I will leave to brighter minds and as with all stats what is behind the numbers is sometimes not all that clear. Likely these numbers can be considered as more accurate than employment stats as the source for the data is more reliable.

It would appear that from 2000 - 2012 Nanaimo incorporations are pretty much the same having topped out in 2007 with 580. Presumably the building boom would have had an impact on this number, as would the building decline also impact the downward trend.

The regional district however, seems to show a different outcome with 148 more incorporations in 2012 than were present in 2000.

What does it mean? As stated, I leave that up to brighter minds than mine. Of which there is no shortage. :^)
