Linley Valley Supporters Address Council

Everyone who cares about the future of Linley Valley West is urged to attend this meeting.

People who support protecting Linley Valley West will make presentations to the council meeting on April 15, challenging the city's plan to approve a 352-home development in a crucial ecosystem in Linley Valley. The meeting starts at 4 p.m., but we are not yet sure when we will be making presentations.

Some key points of the delegation include:

1. A professional bio-inventory shows that Linley Valley West shows previously undocumented environmentally sensitive areas and a wide range of at-risk species. Approving development on land with this level of environmental values should not be "routine". It requires a careful study of the environmental risks and public input.
What is the hurry in approving this project? Work should not proceed for the next few months: it is nesting season and a crucial time for all species.

2. Council is accountable to its citizens. Citizens are indicating that they want this land protected.

3. There are funding agencies that support the protection of environmentally sensitive areas: Save Linley Valley West has been in contact with them. The group is willing to work with the city to protect this unique area.

Please show your support by attedning  this meeting in the Shaw Auditorium in the Conference Centre, starting at 4 p.m.
