Roger McKinnon For Mayor Nanaimo
Respected for his involvement with
businesses and charities on Vancouver Island for over 34 years, Roger McKinnon
has been a real estate professional, business owner and hotel operator since graduating
from Business Management and Marketing in 1977 at VIU/Malaspina College.
On top of his business successes, he has led charities like Childrens
Hospital, Big Brothers and Dry Grad. He is a founder of Oceanside Rotary, the
Alumni chapter for VIU/Malaspina College and the VIU Foundation. Roger has
achieved great satisfaction from leading campaigns for the Jake Cody
Foundation, Celebrity Flag Football Charity Game, restoration of the Nanaimo
Railway Station, Old House Village Mayors Charity Golf Tournament and the Larry
McNabb Legacy Fund.
Roger believes Nanaimo has the
potential to become one of the leading cities in BC with a strong economy and a
rich community spirit that supports all its citizens and celebrates its
diversity. He is committed to achieving his goals of zero property tax
increases within three years, getting city hall and the community working as a
team, marketing Nanaimo aggressively as a business destination,
resolving ‘wet housing’ issues through community consultation and providing
strong leadership that reflects the community’s vision.

the fact that you even used the derogatory term "wet housing" to describe the proposed low barrier social housing shows your lack of compassion and respect for community members of Nanaimo.
ReplyDeleteYou have supported and profited off the unsustainable urban sprawl this city has suffered from in the 80's-90's as a real estate developer. I have no doubt you will be a push over to unsustainable developments in the future for your own personal gain.
This is ken Clark I believe your statement to be false. If someone gives everything he can to people in need. I think that's a man with his right heart in place. A man that willl go the distance for everyone. I know first hand working for charities is a difficult and time consuming thing. It takes a lot of energy to get very little out. Imagine doing many of them all the time. He has my vote
