Welcome to the new global economy and what happens when business serves the dollar and the dollar only.
This CBC story reports that 50 RBC employees will be losing their jobs as a result of RBC outsourcing them to an Indian company. Adding insult to injury is the fact these foreign workers will be working under temporary permits as existing staff are forced to train them.
Once they have been trained here in Canada, which displaces the 50 existing Canadian workers, the trained workers will return to their home country where the jobs ultimately are being outsourced.
There is something seriously wrong with this picture and the federal government apparently now is investigating the legality of displacing Canadian workers with temporary foreign workers.
Corporations have neither a heart nor a soul, it's only god is the green back and those employed by them in the ivory tower, sooner or later also risk loosing both their heart and soul.
