Nanaimo Summertime ConstructionA section of Departure Bay Road from Hammond Bay to approximately Newton Rd. is in the process of being resurfaced.
This section of road was torn up last summer to install new water and sewer lines and has been in 'bumpy' shape ever since.
The top layer of the old asphalt was removed the other day and hauled away and presently the road surface resembles a washboard. The resurfacing is expected to be finished by July 20.
So if you have to use this stretch of road, do your vehicle a favour and slowdown when you go over all the lumps and bumps which will be present for the next few day.
