Girl Groped On Ashlee Road


Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who groped a 14-year-old girl late Tuesday, Jan. 8.
 
The girl had just disembarked from a transit bus around 3:55 p.m. and was walking along Ashlee Road when the man approached her from behind. During a conversation he suddenly pinched the girl's buttocks. The girl ran and the man followed and after catching up attempted to grope her chest.

The girl was able to escape to a nearby house and the man fled on a bicycle he had been pushing. Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police describe the man as being 50-60 years old, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, with a dark complexion, and may possibly be First Nations. He has long grey and black curly hair and is missing some teeth.The suspect wore a red jacket with a red strip under the sleeves and had on black winter pants. He escaped on a black mountain bike.
