Subway 'Foot-longs' Only Eleven Inches?

Not All Subway Foot-longs Measure Up!

Subway, the food chain with over 38,000 locations is facing a bit of consumer uproar after a customer reported to be in Australia posted the above picture which clearly shows the 'foot-long' sandwich is one inch short.

As an example of how social media can cause a bit of a stir in short order, apparently people from all over the place are finding similar results.

Does It Matter?

Well, you are probably getting as much bread with an eleven inch sub as you would with a 12 inch sub as most bread is made by weight, any baker knows that not all dough rises equally, which may account for the shortage.

That said, the amount of toppings you are getting will definitely be less as obviously you can't put as much on an eleven inch surface as you can on a twelve inch surface.

A Solution?

Perhaps they have to rename their product and call them big subs and little subs as clearly you can't claim an eleven inch sub is truly a 'foot-long', even using metric.
