Nanaimo Water Safety Survival Day Mar. 21/15

Nanaimo Aquatics Centre will host Water Safety Survival Day this Saturday. The event runs from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and will feature a variety of life-saving skills and activities for all ages.

Water Safety Survival Day is an afternoon of fun events that promote water safety and survival skills. Activities include: scuba diving, an obstacle course, hypothermia challenge, survival boat building and much more.


Activities include: scuba diving by Sink or Swim Scuba, water survival obstacle course, hypothermia challenge, survival boat building, Junior Lifeguard Club activities, swim to survive challenge, underwater scavenger hunt, face painting and prizes.

BC has the third highest rate of drownings in Canada according to the Lifesaving Society.
