Demolition Progresses At Port Place Mall

Visitors to Port Place Mall downtown (Harbour Park Mall for the old timers) will see some evidence of the demolition that is happening to the inside of the old mall.

Eventually this will all be removed to make way for the roadway which will run right through where the old mall sat. Thrifty's Food and London Drugs will remain in their present locations when the renovation is complete, but they will be pretty much all that remains of the old mall.

Times, they are a  changing and progress (?) or time waits for no man. It seems like only yesterday that all of Nanaimo headed down to Harbour Park Mall on a Saturday to take advantage of the bargains being offered by Sears who used to be the main store in the mall.
