Dale Schulz - Nanaimo - "As he sees it" - June 12/16

Lifelong Nanaimo resident, professional artist and illustrator Dale Schulz 'sees' much of Nanaimo many of us simply walk by without giving a second thought.

Through the eyes of an artist the everyday can become almost magical and with a few simple photos of his daily walks, Dale captures and shares some of that magic on his Facebook page.

The following is the most recent example of what Dale sees when he walks about our lovely seaside community many of us just take for granted.

Dale's Post - June 12/16

A range of pictures from my walk downtown with Indy today. A lot for lovers of abandoned chairs!

But I also got some people in some photos; a building or two and some waterfront pix. Plus a little colour courtesy of the Pride Parade that was getting ready to start while we were downtown.

Today we walked through the South End where I found a few‪#‎abandonedchairs‬; a nice post - and a chaise lounge in a yard on Crace Street that may not be abandoned. On the way we shot the Old Firehall on Nicol Street.

Caught some boats and reflections at the Harbour and then after coffee and a walk in the Park we headed home via Commercial Street where things were starting to happen with the Parade. Here I shot a Bubbly Burlesque Queen Bee and flags unfurling. I also saw my buddy Johnny - one of the barbers at That 50's Barber Shop. He is one Hep Cat!

On the way home along Pine Street and Park Avenue it was nothing but #abandonedchairs - On at some townhouses on Pine and a couple on Park Avenue near 5th Street - Indy spotted the purple one first!
