Dale Schulz - Nanaimo - "As he sees it" - June 14/16

Lifelong Nanaimo resident, professional artist and illustrator Dale Schulz 'sees' much of Nanaimo many of us simply walk by without giving a second thought.

Through the eyes of an artist the everyday can become almost magical and with a few simple photos of his daily walks, Dale captures and shares some of that magic on his Facebook page.

The following is the most recent example of what Dale sees when he walks about our lovely seaside community many of us just take for granted.

Dale's Post - June 14/16
Here are my photos from our walk today - I didn't take many - I was carrying a package that I shipped to Australia and the weather was uncooperative for a good deal of the walk - we saw sunshine, cloud, rain, and hail - I'm kind of surprised it didn't SNOW!

Anyway, here goes.
First a car peeks out of an overgrown driveway on Milton Street and just down a little further an ‪#‎abandonedthrone‬!

On Prideaux Street I saw some flowers growing wild in an empty lot - I think they are sweetness or something; and some roses against a fence.

A little further down we crossed the tracks at the E&N Station which is on Selby Street.

The production crew was still filming scenes for 'Chesapeake Shores' - this time on Commercial and Church Streets.

And last - another shot of the Bastion. We stopped for coffee and a treat at Javawocky and were the only animals sitting outside - it was cold and blustery!

We had to wait out hail for a bit and made a hasty trip of it getting home so no pix on the way back.
I see it's getting real nice out there NOW - perhaps another walk this afternoon!
