Dale Schulz 'Nanaimo' - "As he sees it" June 20/16

Lifelong Nanaimo resident, professional artist and illustrator Dale Schulz 'sees' much of Nanaimo many of us simply walk by without giving a second thought.

Through the eyes of an artist the everyday can become almost magical and with a few simple photos of his daily walks, Dale captures and shares some of that magic on his Facebook page.

The following is the most recent example of what Dale sees when he walks about our lovely seaside community many of us just take for granted.

Dale's Post - June 18/16
Here are the photos from today's walk. The day is so bright and hot that I didn't get a lot of good shots - this handful will have to do!

First - some Yucca flowers on Fitzwilliam Street - in front of the BC Tel building. Then mirrored clouds on the 'Racquetball Courts' building - on the Fraser Street side, and a nice view of Mt. Benson from Skinner Street.

I got a pretty good photo of the Courthouse - a distinctive Heritage building designed by Francis Rattenbury - it is a lovely old building!

On the way home I shot some vines starting to creep on a newish gate leading to the 'Entertainment Centre' that used to be the Caprice movie theatre, and an ‪#‎abandonedchair‬ pair on Selby Street.
Indy and I had to beat a hasty retreat home today - because it started getting HOT out there! Be careful out in the sunshine this afternoon folks!
