RCMP seeking witnesses
June 7th collision Country Club & Rock City Rd
A 15 year male skateboarder has been taken to local hospital with undetermined injuries after colliding with a truck late this morning. The incident took place at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Rock City Road at approximately 11:40 am on Tuesday June 7th.
Police, Fire and BC Paramedics responded. Police have determined after speaking with witnesses, the youth was travelling along Country Club Drive towards Rock City Road when he collided with a Dodge pickup operated by a 34 year old male. No helmet was found at the scene, the youth was travelling with earbuds in and it appears he may have not stopped at the intersection. The victim is currently being assessed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
