Empire Days Parade Packs Downtown Nanaimo
As the above file photo clearly shows, you have to get downtown early to get a spot along the parade route. This year will be no exception.
This year there will be a pancake breakfast and lots of fun activities for the kids in Diana Krall Plaza on parade day.

Crowning of 2014 May Queen and reception Branch 256 Legion
Saturday May 17
10:00 am Nanaimo Museum tour
11:45 am May Queen fires cannon Waterfront Plaza
1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - HMCS Nanaimo arrives at the visitors pier
2:00 pm May Queen visits Military Museum
Sunday May 18
9:00am - Pancake breakfast in Diana Krall Plaza
10:30am - Children's activities in Diana Krall Plaza
12 noon - St. Paul's Anglican Church hot dog sale
12:45pm - Bastion Running Club, Bastion Mile Race downtown
1pm - 147th annual Empire Days Parade - traditional route through downtown
10pm - "Fireworks over the Harbour" - Nanaimo Waterfront
