Nanaimo Area Schools Will Be Closed June 2
City of Nanaimo Running 'Camp Firefly'

The rotating teacher's strike will hit Nanaimo schools again on Monday, June 2 and parents are asked to keep their children home for safety reasons. There will also be no buses running on that day.

Camp Firefly offers alternative for children 5 - 11

The department of Parks, Recreation and Environment is again offering a special one day camp on June 2nd to keep kids busy during the teachers job action. Participants will play games, make crafts and go skating in this fun filled day. Camp runs from 8:30am - 5pm at Beban Park.
