A Sure Sign Summer Is Coming To Nanaimo
The Noon Hour Cannon Firing and the opening of the Bastion!Another year has rolled around and this weekend marks the start of another summer season in Nanaimo. The first noon hour cannon firing and the opening of the Bastion happens this coming Saturday and will continue daily until Labour Day.
As always the May Queen will have the honor of the first cannon firing to take place in Pioneer Plaza next to the Bastion.
The Bastion is open from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm daily from this weekend until Labour Day weekend with admission being by donation.
The daily cannon firing ceremony starts at 11:45 am every day from this weekend until Labour Day weekend, with the actual firing at 12:00 noon.
Both the Bastion opening and the cannon firing happen every day until Labour Day weekend.
