Perfect Weather For Empire Days Parade
Just a couple of the participants in Sunday's parade showing the cultural diversity that makes Canada a most unique country.
More pictures of the parade will follow, just as soon as I sort through them all.

Wow, the sidewalks look pretty bare!
ReplyDeleteThe sidewalks near the end of the parade, where these pictures were taken were not as crowded as in some years. However, Diana Krall Plaza was wall to wall with families enjoying the fun activities there which was a new addition this year.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to judge but I would guess there were just as many if not more people and this year with the pancake breakfast, rides etc. more people were downtown much earlier and stayed longer than in years past.
All in all, I think this is a great free, fun family event and a great way to kick off another festival season in Nanaimo.
And of course downtown was wall to wall at night as everyone enjoyed the fireworks which returned as part of the Empire Days Celebration.
