Bastion Street Parkade - $40,000 Lighting Upgrade

The City of Nanaimo is upgrading the lighting inside of the Bastion parkade. The existing high-pressure sodium lights will be replaced with new L.E.D. lights that consume approximately half the electrical power while improving the quality of the lighting supplied.

The $40,000 project will reduce current electrical consumption by up to 63,000 kwh per year, avoiding $5,000 in electrical charges. The City is also seeking incentives from BC Hydro  to assist with the funding of this project.
