Mayor McKay Was On A 'Roll' - Core Review The Crowning Touch

Nearly Every Motion Was A Crowd Pleaser

Mayor Bill McKay kicked off Monday's council meeting by holding out an olive branch to people he may have offended in the past and demonstrated some of the stuff real leaders are made of. Eating a bit of humble pie and asking forgiveness is not a sign of weakness, but quite the contrary. His opening comments led to a tear jerking embrace between himself and Councillor Kipp.

That seemed to set the tone for the rest of the Council meeting, which went off without a hitch with the exception of Kipp's defeated motion.

The gallery broke into cheers and rounds of applause for several decisions made by council with the loudest expression of approval coming from the Colliery Dam group.

The piece de resistance had to be the unanimous passing of Mayor McKay's motion which sets in motion the steps which will lead to the much anticipated Core Review.
