Snuneymuxw flag to fly at City Hall alongside City and Provincial flags
City to mark National
Aboriginal Day with permanent placement of Snuneymuxw flag
During a dedicated event at City Hall starting 11
a.m. Sunday, June 21, Nanaimo City Mayor, Bill McKay, along with Snuneymuxw
First Nations Chief, John Wesley; Member of Parliament, Jean Crowder; and Member
of the BC Legislative Assembly, Leonard Krog, will mark National Aboriginal Day
in Nanaimo with the permanent placement of the Snuneymuxw First Nations flag
atop City Hall.
Members of the public and media wishing to take part in this
important acknowledgement of friendship and community building are invited to
attend Sunday's event.
Residents unable to attend Sunday's flag
placement event in person are encouraged to express their support through social
media.

representatives from the federal and provincial governments in marking this
