Snuneymuxw Flag Raised At Nanaimo City Hall

Snuneymuxw flag will permanently fly over City Hall

Going beyond symbolism and representing the friendship that exists between the City of Nanaimo and Snuneymuxw First Nation is how Mayor McKay described the historic event of permanently flying the Snyneymuxw flag over city hall.

The ceremony was well attended by Chief John Wesley, Snuneymuxw Elders, Leonard Krog MLA, Jean Crowder MP, Mayor Bill McKay and Councillors Gord Fuller, Jim Kipp, Bill Yaochim, Jerry Hong, Wendy Pratt and Ian Thorpe.
