Councillor George Anderson Not Very Popular

Councillor Anderson Took Several 'Shots'

During the impassioned pleas of 40 residents obviously unable to understand the decision of five council members to remove both dams this summer, disappointment and anger towards Councillor Anderson was expressed by many if not all delegates.

Some expressed sadness that they had supported him during the last election, hoping that perhaps he would not be like all the others, or that he would bring fresh ideas to the council table. Many expressed disappointment that as a 'Harewood boy' they would have felt him more sympathetic to their wish to retain the dams this summer, and then replace them over the next two summers leaving at least part of the park usable during the construction.

I believe he was one of the few Councillors who actually did not address the issue at all, although I don't recall Councillor Greves having anything to say either.

There was little doubt that most in attendance would not be supporting Mr.Anderson, should he in fact seek re-election to another term.
