Multi-Car Accident Snarls Traffic
The Island Highway at the intersection with Terminal Park Plaza was the scene of a multi-car accident around 4:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.
A car and small truck were seriously damaged while another vehicle involved sustained less serious damage. One person was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Apparently a vehicle traveling in the southbound lane, lost control and jumped the median involving the other two vehicles..
I saw, well mostly heard and then saw, this accident. WOW! It only takes a second to loose control of your vehicle. I think in this case lighting a cigarette was "the distraction". Please people, stay focused on the task at hand when you're driving.
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing that nobody was gravely injured, killed or worse.
Well considering I was the driver of the blue truck I KNOW how quickly a driver can loose control of his vehicle once his truck looses a tire. The car in front of me hit the brakes so hard that I swerved to miss his bumper and took out my own truck on the median. Just a natural reaction was to jerk the wheel to the left instead of running into the rear end of the truck. Please get your info straight before commenting. I am so glad no one else was hurt. Thank God from up above. Amen.
