Car Accident Terminal Park Nanaimo

Multi-Car Accident Snarls Traffic

The Island Highway at the intersection with Terminal Park Plaza was the scene of a multi-car accident around 4:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.

A car and small truck were seriously damaged while another vehicle involved sustained less serious damage. One person was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Apparently a vehicle traveling in the southbound lane, lost control and jumped the median involving the other two vehicles..

Motorists heading home needed to take alternate routes as the accident closed both northbound and southbound traffic while the scene was investigated and crews cleaned up the aftermath.

  1. I saw, well mostly heard and then saw, this accident. WOW! It only takes a second to loose control of your vehicle. I think in this case lighting a cigarette was "the distraction". Please people, stay focused on the task at hand when you're driving.
It really is amazing that nobody was gravely injured, killed or worse.

  2. Well considering I was the driver of the blue truck I KNOW how quickly a driver can loose control of his vehicle once his truck looses a tire. The car in front of me hit the brakes so hard that I swerved to miss his bumper and took out my own truck on the median. Just a natural reaction was to jerk the wheel to the left instead of running into the rear end of the truck. Please get your info straight before commenting. I am so glad no one else was hurt. Thank God from up above. Amen.
