Where is all that smoke coming from?

The above pictures of the fire on Dog Mountain at Sproat Lake looks very scary and one can only imagine how thick that smoke becomes as it burns and burns.

For a comparison, the Sproat Lake fire is said to cover 45 hectares, which is a large fire covering a big area. However, it is barely a camp fire compared to some others burning elsewhere in the Province.

Cougar Creek fire --- 5,000 hectares, Elaho --- 20,000 hectares and finally Boulder Creek --- 12,000 hectares.

In addition to the high cost of fighting these fires, the amount of real wealth that is being consumed is enormous.
