Expect delays Terminal Avenue from Stewart to St. George St.
The City will be gathering information in this section of roadway in preparation for utility upgrades to be completed in 2017. Detailed topographic survey and utility location information will be collected to be incorporated into the design phase of the project.
In 2017 sections of utilities such as sanitary sewer, water and storm sewers will be replaced and the entire 1.4 km of road will be resurfaced from curb to curb.
Motorists are advised that work along Terminal
Avenue between Stewart Avenue and St. George Street will lead to a temporary
road closure between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm from Monday, February 22
to Friday, February 26.
Traffic management and control plans will be
used while the work is carried out and will result in a temporary closure of one
lane at a time for (a maximum of) one block sections. Peak travel times and BC
Ferries arrival schedules have been identified and considered in the lane
closure timing.
Configurations to mitigate traffic impacts have been
planned to the best extent possible.
