Nanaimo Airport Under Construction

Terminal Changes In Effect

If you have not been out to Nanaimo Airport lately you will notice a few temporary changes during the second phase of the airport upgrade construction.

This phase of construction will see the actual terminal expanded, with apron and aircraft parking improvements. There will also be more vehicle parking added as well.

One noticeable change right now, is where you meet arriving passengers, which is no longer insider the main terminal building. Rather you have to go outside the building to the green tent to the south of the terminal to meet arriving passengers.

Departures still leave from inside the existing terminal which has been modified to accommodate the construction to the north end of the terminal.

The $10.4 million project is expected to be complete by next March.

  1. It's already too small, and it's not even completed.
