Dale Schulz - Nanaimo 'As He Sees It' - May 18/16

This is the first in what I know will be a welcome addition to Nanaimo Info Blog.

Lifelong Nanaimo resident, professional artist and illustrator Dale Schulz 'sees' much of Nanaimo many of us simply walk by without giving a second thought.

Through the eyes of an artist the everyday can become almost magical and with a few simple photos of his daily walks, Dale captures and shares some of that magic on his Facebook page.

The following is the most recent example of what Dale sees when he walks about our lovely seaside community many of us just take for granted.

Dale's post - May 18/16

Wow! I got a whole pile of shots on our walk today! Indy and I took our time meandering through Harewood today where I shot a number of flowers as well as a young pear. We headed into town via the top of Pine Street and Bruce Ave. Where I shot the view back into Harewood as well as some poppies on the lane beside St. Peter's Church. In the Old City Quarter I took a shot of St. Andrew's from the back and also snapped a shot of the painted rocks in Cappy Yates Park before crossing the bridge into downtown.

Once downtown we headed for the waterfront where we perused the Market and chatted with Cruise Ship Passengers and had coffee with the regulars at Javawocky. On the Docks I shot chairs waiting for customers in front of Penny's Palapa and a blue-clad boater in a blue boat. Next up onto Cameron Island where I shot my favourite downtown rock-feature which I call 'The Mouth'. The last shot is something RARE for me - a picture with people in it! Mostly visitors from the Cruise Ship I think.
