Two pedestrians struck in crosswalk
The
Nanaimo RCMP is seeking witnesses to a pedestrian hit and run accident that sent
a male to hospital with significant injuries. The incident occurred when two
pedestrians were struck while crossing at an marked crosswalk. The
accident occurred at 10:45 pm on Wednesday April 27, at Terminal
Ave at St George Street.
Investigators
determined a 35 year old male and a 25 year old female were walking westbound
on Terminal Ave at the crosswalk, when a speeding northbound vehicle failed to
yield for them and struck both. While both were hit, only the male was injured
and required hospitalization.
The
suspect vehicle is described as a dark sedan or coupe. No license plate or
description of the driver was obtained. If anyone has information which could
