Single detached housing starts in Nanaimo decreased in April from 44 in 2015 to 30 in 2016 while multi-family units decreased from 133 in 2015 to 17 in 2016 resulting in a combined total of 47 units in 2016 as opposed to 177 units in 2015.
Year-to-date totals show an decrease of 4 single family units from 138 in 2015 to 134 in 2016. Multi-family dwellings decreased from 201 units in 2015 to 106 units in 2016. Combined totals for 2015 were 339 compared with 240 for 2016.
