Nanaimo - Unsolved Crimes July 1 - 8 2016


1. Nanaimo file # 2016-21236 On July 1st, a male exposed himself to a female in an underground parking lot at 90 Front St. The suspect is a First Nations male, approximately 40 years old, wearing jeans and a light blue shirt with a white symbol on the front.

2. Nanaimo file # 2016-21238 Sometime overnight on July 1st, a garage attached to a home at 2004 Lakeside Drive was broken into. Taken was a Dewalt skill saw, Hilti bag with Makita tools, Makita Router and Hilti screw gun. All items are marked with TKO drywall in a black marker.

3. Nanaimo file # 2016-21713 Sometime between May 24th, and June 28th, a 42 year old Lazyyello canoe was stolen from the Charmaine boat ramp on Hammond Bay Road. The canoe has grey trim, lots of patches and wooden seats.

4. Nanaimo file # 2016-21780 on Wednesday July 6th, between 10 pm and midnight, a hockey bag full of hockey gear was stolen from the back of a truck parked at the Quarterway Pub. The bag is black and has a Maple leaf emblem on the side. Inside was a pair of Graf skates, Easton hockey gloves, black practice jersey with #19, and socks with flames.

5. Nanaimo file # 2016-21809 On Wednesday July 6th, Shear Inspiration Studio, located at 1565 Waddington Road was broken into. Taken were two cash boxes. It appears the suspect gained entry through an unlocked rear window.

6. Nanaimo file # 2016-21823 On Wednesday July 6th, a sports bag and its contents were stolen from the Comox playing field, located behind the Tim Horton's on Wallace St. The owner was practising on the field when the theft occurred. The Nike bag had white markings and contained 2 pair of red and white Nike gloves, black and white Nike cleats, black and white shorts and shirt, black Nike hoody and a black and white San Francisco 49er's baseball cap.

7. Nanaimo file # 2016-21934 On Thursday July 7th, a break and enter occurred at the Nanaimo Recycling Exchange located at 2477 Kenworth Road. Entry was gained by prying open the rear door. It is unknown what was taken.

8. Nanaimo file #2016-21950 On Thursday July 7th, a black Specialized mountain bike with dual suspension was stolen from the back of a truck, parked at Wakesiah Ave and Fourth St.
