International Trade Reps In Nanaimo

B.C.’s international trade reps coming to Nanaimo

NANAIMO – The Province of British Columbia’s nine international trade and investment representatives are coming to Nanaimo to discuss opportunities with local companies, municipal officials and organizations interested in doing business in overseas markets.

The trade representatives, who work out of China, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, and California, will be in Nanaimo on Thursday June 2.

In the morning, the representatives will present a series of market-specific overviews and provide advice on how to establish a presence internationally. Participants will also be given an overview of provincial services offered to companies that are thinking about exporting or who are seeking international investors.

Pre-arranged, one-on-one meetings with businesses will take place in the afternoon.

Space is still available for the morning session. Companies interested in attending should contact Amrit Manhas at 250 755-4468 or

The representatives’ visit to the Harbour City is being co-organized by Vancouver Island Coast Economic Developers Association, the City of Nanaimo, Community Futures Central Island and the B.C. Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation.

B.C.’s international trade representatives are in the province from May 23 to June 5. Over this period, they will be meeting and working with businesses and officials from about a dozen communities.
