Unsolved Nanaimo Crimes

Unsolved crimes February 19th to March 2nd

1. Nanaimo file # 2016-6216 Sometime overnight on Monday February 29, a residence under construction on Randle Rd was broken into. Taken were $3000-$4000 of tools, all engraved with "Rathy Construction"

2. Nanaimo file # 2016-6278 Sometime overnight on Tuesday February 29, Canada Post mailboxes at Salmon Rd and Calder Drive were broken into. Locks were busted off and mailboxes were rifled through. Miscellaneous mail was found scattered about.

3. Nanaimo file # 2016-6159 Sometime overnight on Sunday March 28th, Pauline Haerer School, located on Campbell St was broken into. Point of entry was an exterior window and stolen was a laptop, LCD projector, VGA cable and power cord, speakers, connectors and an ELMO document camera.

4. Nanaimo file # 2016-5505 Sometime overnight on Tuesday February 23, mailboxes located at Nanaimo River Rd and White Rapids Rd were broken into. It appears all the mail in the boxes was taken.

5. Nanaimo file # 2016-6096 Sometime between Saturday February 27, and Sunday February 28, a Honda 4 stroke 15 hp motor was stolen from Anchorage Marina on Stewart Ave. The motor was taken from the back of a 22 ft. K&C boat that was sitting on a trailer inside a fenced compound.

6. Nanaimo file # 2016-5901 On Friday February 26, BC Hydro reported unknown persons have been cutting power poles that are being stored on the side of the road, just past the railway tracks on South Wellington Rd and the Nanaimo Parkway. Damage to date is estimated to be in the range of $6000-$8000.

7. Nanaimo file # 2016-5622 Sometime between February 19th, and February 25, a laser level was stolen from the backyard of a home on Gail Place. The level is a Model HV101, Spectra, 4 feet in length and yellow

8. Nanaimo file # 206-6328 Sometime overnight on Tuesday March 1 Central Towing compound located on 10 St was broken into. The fence securing the property was cut allowing for entry into the compound. A vehicle in the compound, a 1998 Ford Escort, was then broken into.

9. Nanaimo file # 2016-6405 Sometime overnight on Tuesday March 1, Uplands elementary on Stronach Drive was broken into. Entry was gained by removing a pane of glass to an exterior window. It is unsure if anything was taken but items in the school were moved around and there were obvious signs of a break in.

10. Nanaimo file # 2016-6314 On Tuesday March 1 at approximately 12:45 am a break and enter at 122 Irwin St was interrupted by the owners returning home. As the owners walked inside they saw a male running through the rear of their property. Another male was seen carrying a large bag and leaving through the rear door of their home. Both suspects are described as being 5 ft. 6, thin and wearing dark clothing. They were last seen running north bound on Irwin St.
